Weekend Warriors

 provides backpacks filled with nutritious food to students who have little or no food on the weekends through Harvester’s BackSnack Program

Kick Up Your Heels for Christmas

CIS partners with Ranson Memorial Hospital and Ottawa University to provide free shoes to children in need

4-H Day Camp

gives 4-H students that participate in Reach for the Stars 4-H program a taste of what camp is about

Dental Clinics

CIS partners with the Douglas Dental Clinic to provide free dental services to students in need

Careers on Wheels

CIS works with community volunteers to introduce 5th grade students to career exploration

Bicycle Rodeo

CIS partners with the Ottawa Police Dept., Franklin County EMS, Rotary Club, American Eagle, and Keith King State Farm Insurance to teach 2nd grade students about bike safety and provide each student with a bicycle helmet.

Spring Fling “Gymspiration”

gives students plenty of open gym activities to do during Spring Break

Ace Readers Mentoring

CIS partners with Future Visions to offer a computerized reading tutoring program.

Lincoln Living Leadership

 a leadership and service learning program geared towards 3rd, 4th, 5th graders.

Brilliant Bookworms

 CIS partners with the Ottawa Library to  introduce 3rd graders to the library

Toothbrush/Toothpaste Campaingn

 provides toothbrushes and toothpaste to area students.

Salvation Army Angel Tree

 provides gifts to 170 children.

Resource and Readiness Fair

Partnership with ECKAN to provide school supplies and connect family to community resaouces

Disability Awareness

Partnership with Kansas Youth Empowerment Academy to share the challenges, strengths, and opportunities for people with disabilities with USD 290 fourth graders

Clifford “Be Big” Program

Partnership with American Family Insurance that encourages first graders to use their sharing skills 

Scrubby Bear Program

Partnership with American Red Cross to teach proper handwashing skills to USD 290 kindergartners by partnering with the American Red Cross

OPET (Ottawa Public Education Trust)
